Today, negative stereotypes and tropes about us still prevail and are embedded in unspoken institutional practices and procedures. As a result, some Black women have internalized false beliefs about themselves and their ability to give and receive love and care, such as:

"There's no time for me."
"I feel guilty if I take time for me"
"It's selfish to focus on myself'.
"Who do I think I am anyway?"
"I don't have time to pamper myself."
"I'm not loveable."
"It's just not in the cards for me!"
"It seems that I'll never find a partner to love."
"It's too late for me".

If you struggle with loving on yourself or carving out time to engage in self-care rituals of any kind, please come to this workshop. Learn how to reprogram your mind and recondition your thoughts and beliefs through self-hypnosis to radically engage in self-love and self-care for a better you.

WHAT IS HYPNOSIS

Hypnosis is a natural but altered state of mind that we all experience every day like when we daydream or get fixated on a deep thought.

Hypnotherapy is a process of inner focus, that facilitates communication between the conscious and the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind is the part of the self that holds information outside of our awareness, yet still influences our behaviors.

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO IN ORDER TO BE HYPNOTIZED

1. A desire to relax and let go
2. Remember that hypnosis is natural
3. Have a willingness and readiness for change
4. Be motivated by an emotionalized desire
5. Have an open mind
6. Not forced to try it
7. Not too skeptical or negative

HOW DOES HYPNOSIS HELP?
Hypnosis helps you access the potential resources and creative intelligence you hold within yourself.

WHAT IS SELF-HYPNOSIS?

All Hypnosis is Self Hypnosis, which means that you essentially place yourself into hypnosis. Self-hypnosis involves becoming deeply relaxed, yet highly focused and absorbed in the experience while giving yourself positive suggestions about ways to reach your goals.

In this workshop you will:
- Receive a brief overview of hypnosis
- Learn the basics steps to bring yourself in and out of self-hypnosis
- Learn how to rest your body and mind (without falling asleep)
- Learn how to enter a light trance to engage with radical self-love and self-care using self-hypnosis practices taught to us by our ancestors from the sleep temples of ancient Egypt.
